What is a Brownfield? 

The law broadly defines a “Brownfield site” as “any real property, the redevelopment or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous waste, petroleum, pollutant, or contaminant.”

In an effort to protect our natural resources, open spaces and undeveloped land, New York State has implemented initiatives and granted incentives to real estate developers via the Voluntary Brownfields Cleanup Program to redevelop abandoned and contaminated properties.   The program allows the developer to revitalize these properties following strictly regulated cleanup efforts.  JM Associates, Inc. offers complete environmental management and consulting services for all phases of Brownfield site re-development projects.  JM Associates, Inc. was extensively involved and contracted to perform environmental services for the following Brownfield sites:
